Summer Deferment

Taxpayers may defer their summer property tax on their principal residence until February 15th, 2024 if they meet the following criteria:

  • Has a total gross income of $40,000 or less for the preceding tax year (proof of income is required) and
  • Is totally and permanently disabled, blind, paraplegic, hemiplegic, quadriplegic or is an eligible veteran, eligible widow or widower or at least 62.

For agricultural real property owners, the owner must meet the following criteria

  • Gross receipts from agricultural or horticultural operations in the previous year (or the average of the previous three years) are not less than the household income for the preceding calendar year for the individual member of the Limited Liability Company or partners of a partnership that own the agricultural property.
