Obviously the duties include taking care of the finances of the township, but for more specifics, there is a book that covers these duties. It is quite extensive. If you have specific questions about what these duties are, please contact the treasurer directly.

2026 Tax Information
2026 Summer Tax Statements will be mailed On July 1st. Summer tax payments are due on or before 5 pm on September 14, 2026. Beginning September 15th, 1% interest will be added to the tax due and continues at an additional 1% each month until the tax has been paid. The 2026 Winter Tax Statements will be mailed on December 1st. Winter tax payments are due on or before 5 pm on February 15, 2027. On February 16th, a 3% penalty will be added to any unpaid summer or winter tax due. Any payments not received by March 1, 2027, will be turned over to the Kalkaska County Treasurer as delinquent and must be paid at their office.
The Treasurer will be available to take payments at the Township Office located at 4855 Pine Street in South Boardman on Wednesdays from 2 pm to 5 pm from July 8 to September 9. The treasurer’s office will be closed on July 29, 2026 during early voting for the primary election. Also, the office will be open from 9am to 5pm on Monday September 14, 2026.
